AMERA awarded Special Consultative Status with ECOSOC

AMERA is pleased to announce that on 31 July 2007 it was awarded special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC).

ICVA Pre-excom NGO Consultation, 25-29 September 2007

AMERA was involved in a number of aspects of the Pre-excom NGO Consultation at UNHCR in September 2007. AMERA organised a session that advocated for independent appeals for refugees where UNHCR is the decision-maker. The speaker for the session was Dr. Andrew Clapham. The meeting took place on Wednesday, 25 September at the Annual Consultations of UNHCR and the International Council of Voluntary Agencies (ICVA), 25-29 September 2007.
